Edinburgh today (22nd August 2012) launches the Paralympic games.. The launch was made by a Royal Air Force Benson Puma Helicopter where Cpl Ginge Allan and Cpl Souse Evans (Who are both Serving in the Royal Air Force Regiment in 4 FP Wing, RAF Brize Norton and Training Wing, RAF Honnington) performed a fast rope drop with two arrows. The arrows were then passed to Cpl Gibson (501 Sqn, Brize Norton) who passed them onto Archer Alastor Hamilton. Alastor then shot the arrow into the Paralympic Statue to mark the start of the Paralympic Games.
The launch was hosted in every capital city in the United Kingdom. Then a flame from each capital will merge together at the Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony in London
