Despite the global economic crisis, the UK Government maintained its investment in the Games, and is now seeking to capitalise on the economic possibilities it can unlock, through:
- Showcasing the best of Britain through the GREAT campaign;
- Maximising tourism through major domestic and international marketing activities;
- Harnessing trade and investment opportunities during the Games; and
- Using the Olympic Park and the regeneration of East London as a springboard for growth.
