London 2012 has been designed to be everyone’s Games. It has been carefully planned to offer something for people of all backgrounds, ages and interests, making sure all parts of the UK are represented and involved in the celebrations.

Events range from the large national programmes such as the Olympic Torch Relay and Britain’s biggest ever cultural event – the London 2012 Festival – to thousands of smaller community projects that have been officially inspired by London 2012.

The Games is also inspiring thousands of people to volunteer, many of them for the first time with plans to build on this through ongoing community programmes after the Games end.
